M. Consunji, Inc. and of which ACCIONA contractor account for about 65% of the total work items of the project.
The CCLEX is a monumental project that makes use of the latest engineering feats and is visualized as becoming one of the tourist attractions in the Visayas region. This bridge will help decongest traffic in the existing two bridges, the Marcelo Fernan Bridge and Mandaue-Mactan Bridge and will also create a new road from the main industrial parks of Cebu City to Mactan Cebu International Airport. The main span will be 390 meters long and will be cable-stayed and will be supported by 145-meter-high (476 ft) twin tower pylons. The design of the pylons is inspired by the historic Magellan’s Cross and the toll facilities' design is inspired by the eight-rayed sun of the Philippine flag.
